Professor
My career can roughly be divided into three phases. I spent about 15 years as a journalist in a variety of jobs ranging from political reporter to rock music critic. I worked another 15 years or so in government communication jobs, including time as Deputy Communications Director for the Governor in New Jersey. Since 2005, I have had more of an academic focus. I helped create the Hall Institute of Public Policy - NJ and served as its communications director for six years. I also taught media and communications courses as an adjunct at Rutgers, where I earned my Ph.D. in media studies. In 2010, I taught a five-week media and elections course at John Cabot University in Rome. Now I'm back at my alma mater, Saint Bonaventure University, teaching journalism full-time.
